Frequently Asked Questions

classic car

Can I change my shipping dates?

Yes. Simply notify your dedicated service agent as soon as you realize you want to change the date.

Can you guarantee pickup or delivery dates?

It depends on the route and what carriers are available on the route at any given time.

Do I have to be at the pickup and delivery location?

No. You can authorize whomever you’d like to be at those locations. If you do not have someone available, explain that to your dedicated service agent. We would still need to know how to retrieve the keys to your vehicle.

Do I have to be present when my vehicle is picked up and delivered?

No. You or whomever you would like to authorize should be available when the vehicle is picked up and delivered. We will ask for the authorized person’s name and phone number when you make your reservation. If the authorized person is not available, we may still be able to pickup your vehicle. However, one set of keys is required, whether the vehicle is a running or non-running vehicle.

Does it make a difference how much gas I leave in my car?

We recommend leaving a quarter tank of gas.

How can I know the time and date for pickup?

Your dedicated service agent will provide that to you once your driver has been assigned, as well as your pickup date, delivery date, driver name, and contact information.

How do I pay for my shipment?

A deposit is charged out of the total amount once the driver has been assigned, and we verbally communicate your driver’s name, pickup date, and delivery date. This deposit is usually taken via credit/debit card. Final payment is due after delivery once you receive your vehicle. You can discuss other payment arrangements with your Road Warrior dedicated service agent.

How do I track my vehicle during transport?

We will provide you with a 6 digit order ID that you can provide to your dedicated service agent to receive an update of your vehicle location at any time.

How does the shipping process work?

Once you make a reservation, you will be sent a reservation email. After this, you will be assigned a driver and receive a dispatch notice email providing you with your driver information, pickup date, and delivery date. You will also receive a call from Road Warrior Auto to confirm the assignment. At this point, a deposit will be charged out of the full amount. Before your pickup and delivery dates, the driver will call you, and you will pay the final balance after delivery to the driver once the vehicle has been delivered to you.

How long will it take to ship my vehicle?

Depending on the route and size of the carrier, your dedicated service agent will provide you with a shipping timeframe. A driver with a fully-loaded carrier typically drives approximately 300 to 400 miles per day.

Is my vehicle insured during shipment? What happens if my car is damaged?

All vehicles being shipped regardless of shape and size will be insured up to $1,000,000. A copy of an insurance form can be provided to the customer, showing detailed information of your driver’s insurance at any given time. If a car is damaged, a final bill of lading form receipt must be provided by the customer, which is given by the driver at delivery. Give us a call, provide us the bill of lading, and your 6 digit order ID, and we will take care of it from there. Personal items and accessories inside the vehicle are not covered, just the vehicle itself.

What can I put in my trunk and vehicle?

Personal items and accessories up to 100 lbs are allowed in your vehicle. Items must be placed inside the trunk. Anything placed inside the vehicle must fit under the window line. Nothing can obstruct the view of the windows.

What do I need to do to prepare for my vehicle shipment?

Know your available dates for pickup. Have the vehicle ready with one set of keys, and know whom you would authorize for your vehicle inspection for pickup and delivery. That’s it.

What is the difference between open and enclosed?

An open carrier is one in which your vehicle is exposed to the air and weather elements. This is the most cost-effective way to transport your vehicle. An enclosed carrier provides an enclosed container that your vehicle goes into and protects your vehicle from the elements during transport. Often, luxury and classic cars are shipped enclosed.

When should I reserve my order?

Typically at least a couple of weeks in advance. Some routes will be cheaper at a later time. Your dedicated service agent will provide you the best timeframe and cost based on your route.

Where will my vehicle be picked up and delivered?

We provide a door-to-door service for any address you choose. Whether a residence or open area parking lot, it’s up to you.
